Who am I?
-
I have always been infatuated with the written word. Whether it’s writing poems for imaginary lovers or rewriting commercials I had seen on TV, there are stacks of notebooks back home as a testament to my passion.
-
The question that guided my path: how do I turn that passion into practice?
1. By writing effectively (B.A. Broadcast Journalism, SUNY Geneseo).
2. Reaching my audience (B.B.A. Marketing, NYIT Manhattan).
3. Understanding decision-making (C.E. Consumer Psychology, Columbia University). -
I dove headfirst into television writing at NBC (100% passion, 0% practical).
I entered the advertising world with Republica (75% passion, 25% practical).
I led creative teams at Stinghouse (50% passion, 50% practical).
I let data inform creative strategy at Thrasio (25% passion, 75% practical).
Why the percentages? I wanted to develop a skill set that enabled me to dial in and dial up whatever a project demands.
Need a cool commercial script? Awesome. Need that script to work on multiple mediums? You got it. Need it to also come in under budget AND target key audience segments? Consider it done.
That’s what I always wanted to be: a multi-faceted, ego-free, data-driven creative leader.
Say that five times fast. -
